I-5 Corridor Improvements SR-134 to Buena Vista Street

Work will occur during daytime hours unless otherwise noted. SR 134 to Magnolia Boulevard Bridge Work: I-5 bridges at Western Avenue and Alameda Avenue. (Night work.) Pier Construction: Near the Los Angeles River Bike Path. Soundwall Installation: Southbound I-5 over the Los Angeles River. Slope Mulching for Erosion Control/Beautification: Slopes near Alameda Avenue and Verdugo Avenue. Magnolia Boulevard to Buena Vista Street Empire I-5 Undercrossing: Build temporary support structure for bridge demolition. Buena Vista Street Bridge (Winona Bridge): Bridge deck concrete curing (process by which concrete attains maximum strength.) Empire Avenue Railroad Underpass: Construct retaining walls at Empire Avenue in front of abutments. Backfill retaining walls. Railroad Retaining Wall: Installation of the covering on the top of the wall (coping) between Hollywood Way and Burbank Boulevard. Buena Vista Railroad Underpass: Erect steel bridge. Pump House: Build structure. |
SR-134 to Magnolia Boulevard + The Los Angeles River Bike Path between Riverside Drive and just south of the SR-134 overcrossing in the City of Los Angeles will be closed through spring 2016. A signed detour is posted that directs bike path users to Zoo Drive and Western Heritage Way. See map here. + One direction of Western Avenue and Alameda Avenue will be closed under I-5 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Closures will affect both eastbound and westbound traffic, but not simultaneously. A detour will be posted for the affected direction. Magnolia Boulevard to Buena Vista Street + Intermittent nighttime lanes closures on southbound I-5 between Hollywood Way and Burbank Boulevard. + Intermittent nighttime ramp closures at southbound Buena Vista Street off-ramp and southbound Burbank Boulevard off-ramp. + Buena Vista Street closures between Winona Avenue and San Fernando Boulevard. These closures will be in place for four weeks:
