I-5 Corridor Improvements SR-134 to Buena Vista Street

Happy Thanksgiving! There will be no construction-related closures from Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 4 a.m. to Sunday, Nov. 27, at midnight. Leland Way Sign Structure Installation: This operation is postponed until late November/early December. Construction activities and closures are subject to change. Please remember, illegal dumping is a crime. Violators will be prosecuted. |
Work will occur during daytime hours unless otherwise noted. SR-134 to Magnolia Boulevard Providencia Avenue Bridge: Girder erection (night work) and bridge construction work on the underside of the bridge both northbound and southbound sides. More information is here. Magnolia Boulevard to Buena Vista Street Empire I-5 Undercrossing: Backfill abutment walls. Construct forms and place reinforcing steel for stems and soffit. Buena Vista Street Bridge (Winona Bridge): Install forms and rebar for center span's stem and soffit (top portion of bridge). Empire Avenue Railroad Underpass: Waterproof steel deck. Install forms and rebar, pour concrete, strip coping on retaining wall. Empire Avenue: Install forms and rebar, strip walls west of Victory Place. Install water mains on east side of I-5 (San Fernando Road). Hollywood Way to Buena Vista Street: Place railroad ballast, install signalization conduits and concrete ties. Victory Place and Empire Avenue: Grade street and intersection. Northbound I-5 San Fernando Boulevard On-Ramp: Remove retaining wall. Construct footing and walls. Remove vegetation on slopes. Set k-rail. Pump Building: Form vault room floor. |
SR-134 to Magnolia Boulevard + Through mid-2017 there will be intermittent daytime bike path closures between Riverside Drive and just south of the SR-134 overcrossing in the City of Los Angeles. When the path is closed, a signed detour will direct users to Zoo Drive and Western Heritage Way. See map here.
+ Full closure of Empire Avenue between Wilson Avenue and Victory Place through late November 2016. Work hours will be from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., primarily Monday through Friday. The closure will remain in place 24/7. A detour will be posted. Click here for more information. |
