I-5 Corridor Improvements Between Orange County Line to the I-605

January 10, 2017

Southbound Valley View Avenue Off-Ramp Closure &

Valley View Avenue Bridge Lane Reductions

Beginning Wednesday, January 18 the California Department of Transportation will close the I-5 southbound off-ramp at Valley View Avenue as part of the freeway widening improvements. In connection with this work, lanes on the Valley View Avenue Bridge will be reduced to two lanes (one in each direction.)

The lane reductions and long term closure of the off-ramp will last for approximately two years as the bridge is widened.

Expect delays and use alternative routes. Avoid Valley View Avenue between Alondra and Artesia Boulevards. Portable, changeable message signs will be placed in the vicinity to notify the motoring public. The closure areas are shown below on the map in red.

Eastbound Alternative Route: Motorists heading southbound on I-5 will exit Carmenita Road, turn right and then either turn left on Alondra Boulevard to access north Valley View Avenue or motorists can continue south on Carmenita Road and turn left onto Artesia Boulevard to access south Valley View Avenue. The alternative route is shown on the map above in blue.

Westbound Alternative Route: Motorists heading northbound on I-5 will exit Artesia Boulevard and either turn left onto Artesia Boulevard to access north Valley View Avenue or motorists can continue on Artesia Boulevard, turn right onto Knott Avenue, left onto Desman Road, right onto Trojan Way, then left onto Alondra Boulevard to access south Valley View Avenue. The alternative route is show on the map above in green.

Please visit the project Google map for detailed detour information regarding these closures.
