• Crosswalk Removal at Empire Avenue: 

Starting the week of June 15, 2015, the crosswalk on Empire Avenue at Victory Place will be removed to allow for construction of a new interchange and undercrossing at Empire Avenue.  Pedestrians are strongly encouraged to cross at the signalized intersection at Valpreda Street until the Victory Place bridge (with a pedestrian sidewalk) opens.  In addition, there will be parking restrictions on the south side of Empire Avenue between Victory Place and Valpreda Street.  For more information click here. 

• Northbound I-5 Soundwall Reconstruction: Crews are reconstructing a section of soundwall along northbound I-5 between Jackson Street and Keystone Street. This work will continue through September 2015. For more information click here.   

• Leland Way Soundwall Reconstruction: Crews are constructing a new soundwall along northbound I-5 adjacent to Leland Way. This work will continue through July 2015. Beginning the week of June 15, crews will begin removal of the existing soundwall.  Work will occur during the day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.  For more information click here.  

• Additional Retaining Wall/Soundwall Work: Work will occur at the following locations: 

o Near the southbound I-5 Empire Avenue on- and off-ramps

o Northbound Burbank Boulevard on-ramp adjacent to Walnut Avenue

• Victory Place Bridge: Installation of concrete caps for piles and concrete blocks that support shoring walls. Also, continuing through July 2015, crews will be drilling and installing metal plates for the shoring wall needed for the Victory Place Bridge.  Drilling will occur during the day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Plate vibrating work will occur at night from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.  Residents may notice some noise and / or vibration.

• Temporary Railroad Tracks:  Installation of track pads for crossing and track ballast (crushed stone) and installation of track protection bridge between Empire Avenue and Burbank Boulevard. 

• Utility Work: Crews will conduct utility work on Empire Avenue between Maria Street and Valpreda Street.  Work will occur during the day from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• From June 15 - June 19, Alameda Avenue full closure at I-5 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.  Detour will be provided.

• On June 15, two lanes of northbound I-5 will be closed from Western Avenue to Alameda Avenue from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Detour will be provided.

• On June 15, northbound I-5 full closure from SR-134 to Alameda Avenue from 11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m.  Detour will be provided.

• On June 16, two lanes of southbound I-5 will be closed from Verdugo Avenue to Alameda Avenue from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.  Detour will be provided.

• On June 16, southbound I-5 full closure from Verdugo Avenue to Alameda Avenue.  Detour will be provided.

• Beginning June 16 and continuing through June 19, the right turn lane from Buena Vista Street to northbound San Fernando Boulevard will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
