|Metrolink Monthly Pass holders can take advantage of the Rail 2 Rail program which allows them to travel on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains within station pairs of their pass at no additional charge.|
|Northbound commuters can now travel on Amtrak train 761, departing Oceanside at 4:53 am and arriving to Los Angeles Union Station at 7:03 am for the morning rush. Southbound Amtrak train 592 is scheduled to depart Los Angeles Union Station at 8:25 pm, giving Metrolink passengers a third evening option after the final Orange County Metrolink train, 608, departs to Oceanside. The Rail 2 Rail® program allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders along the Orange and Ventura County corridors to travel on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains within the station pairs of their pass at no additional charge, including Saturday and Sunday. Metrolink Monthly Pass holder who travel outside of station pairs identified on their pass are required to purchase an Amtrak ticket for the portion of the trip not within the Monthly Pass station pairs. Metrolink passengers simply show their Monthly Pass and board any Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train or bus to their destination. These additional trains are not available to holders of One-Way and Round-Trip tickets or 7-Day Passes except for Shared Service trains (A768 and A761) on the Ventura County Line. A Shared Service train is an Amtrak train that operates in a Metrolink train slot. All Metrolink tickets (One-Way, Round-Trip, 7-Day and Monthly Passes) are accepted on those trains at any time.
The Rail 2 Rail® program does NOT include travel on Coast Starlight trains.
Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Monthly Pass holders may ride any Metrolink train within the station pairs on their pass at no additional charge.
Amtrak 10-Trip tickets are only accepted on Metrolink trains that operate on the Ventura County Line between Burbank-Bob Hope Airport and Los Angeles Union Station. All Metrolink ticket types are accepted on Amtrak trains that operate between Burbank-Bob Hope Airport and Los Angeles Union Station.

Rail 2 Rail® riders should be advised that starting Saturday, June 1, 2013, a valid Amtrak ticket and a complimentary bike reservation will be necessary in order to bring a bike on board Pacific Surfliner trains. Metrolink monthly pass holders will not be allowed to board with a bike without purchasing an Amtrak ticket and reserving the bike slot space in advance. Amtrak tickets and bike reservations can be obtained by visiting Amtrak.com, at Quik-Trak ticketing machines, from station ticket agents, or by calling 1-800-USA-RAIL. Please use Metrolink trains if your journey requires bicycle transport. Metrolink has specially retrofitted bike cars on select trains and all passenger cars can hold up to three bikes per car.
The Rail 2 Rail® program will be suspended from Wednesday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016. Metrolink ticket holders will not be allowed to use Amtrak trains during this period. This includes shared service trains A768 and A761. Amtrak tickets are required during this period.

Metrolink Monthly Pass holders can use any Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train on these schedules for any part of their trip covered by their pass as part of the Rail 2 Rail® program. These additional trains are not available to holders of One-Way and Round Trip tickets or 7-Day Passes.
