The Rail 2 Rail® program will be suspended for all Amtrak trains between Friday, Aug. 31 and Tuesday, Sept. 4 as Amtrak anticipates higher than usual ridership for the Labor Day holiday. The Rail 2 Rail® program typically allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders along the Orange County and Ventura County corridors to travel on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner® trains within the station pairs of their pass at no additional charge, including Saturdays and Sundays. The Rail 2 Rail® program will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 5. Metrolink will offer a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3. As a result, there is no service available on the Ventura County Line on Labor Day.
