June 22, 2016
Northbound & Southbound I-5 Full Freeway Closures Scheduled Week of June 19, 2016 |
ROSECRANS AVENUE & BLOOMFIELD AVENUE BRIDGE PROJECT On Friday night, June 24 crews will perform a traffic shift along northbound I-5, to realign northbound traffic from the outside lanes of the freeway, onto the newly constructed center lanes. In addition to performing this traffic shift, the existing northbound I-5 on-ramp at Rosecrans Avenue will close permanently at 9 p.m. Friday, June 24. A new northbound on-ramp will be reconstructed in its place and will open in 2017. In the meantime, motorists can use the newly reopened northbound I-5 on-ramp at Carmenita Road. To perform the traffic shift along northbound I-5, the following northbound and southbound I-5 full freeway closures and connector closures are scheduled:
The closure area is shown on the map below in red; the detour route is highlighted in blue. Motorists will be directed to exit southbound I-5 at Rosecrans Avenue and proceed directly across the street to re-enter southbound I-5 via the Rosecrans Avenue on-ramp. For additional information, please visit the project Google map.
Motorists will be directed to continue southbound on the I-605, to the eastbound SR-91, to reconnect with the southbound I-5 freeway. For additional information, please visit the project Google map.
