FULL NORTHBOUND I-5 CLOSURES BEGIN OCT. 17 

The nights of October 17-21, 24-28, and 31, northbound I-5 will be fully CLOSED from midnight to 4 a.m. in Burbank between Alameda Avenue and Orange Grove Avenue. Additional southbound I-5 closures within the same limits will be implemented November 1-3. More information and a detour map are here. 

PROVIDENCIA BRIDGE WORK: Through October, crews will be erecting and bolting girders to the Providencia Avenue bridge in Burbank. The work will require intermittent lane closures on Flower Street during the day as well as some nighttime full closures, and lane closures on I-5. Click here for more information.

SR-134 to Magnolia Boulevard

Providencia Avenue Bridge: Girder erection (night work) and bridge construction work on the underside of the bridge, both northbound and southbound sides . More information is here. 

I-5: Install temporary shoring in median, northbound and southbound sides (night work). 

Magnolia Boulevard to Buena Vista Street

Empire I-5 Undercrossing: Form and pour abutment walls. 

Buena Vista Street Bridge (Winona Bridge): Form center span. 

Buena Vista Railroad Underpass: Waterproof steel deck.  

Empire Avenue Railroad Underpass: Erect steel bridge.

Empire Avenue: Backfill retaining walls.

Hollywood Way to Buena Vista Street: Form, pour and strip retaining wall coping (place cap piece on the wall).

Victory Place and Empire Avenue: Utility work.

Soundwalls: Remove existing block soundwalls between Empire Avenue and Cohasset Street.

Old Front Street: Excavate and break out retaining wall.

Pump Building: Structure backfill and form vault room floor.

Winona Avenue under I-5: Falsework removal.

SR-134 to Magnolia Boulevard   

Closures will be implemented October 17-21 unless otherwise specified.

+ From October 17-21, 24-28, and 31, northbound I-5 will be fully CLOSED from midnight to 4 a.m. in Burbank between Alameda Avenue and Orange Grove Avenue. Additional southbound closures within the same limits will be implemented November 1-3. More information and a detour map are here. 

+ Intermittent lane closures on Flower Street between Alameda Avenue and Verdugo Avenue during the day (some night work as well). Traffic flow will be maintained in both directions. Watch for flaggers. More information is here.

+ The northbound I-5 Alameda Avenue on-ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

+ The northbound I-5 Olive Avenue off-ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

+ Up to two lanes closed on southbound I-5 between Alameda Avenue and Burbank Boulevard, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. 

+ Through mid-2017 there will be intermittent daytime bike path closures between Riverside Drive and just south of the SR-134 overcrossing in the City of Los Angeles. When the path is closed, a signed detour will direct users to Zoo Drive and Western Heritage Way. See map here. 

Magnolia Boulevard to Buena Vista Street  

+ Full closure of Empire Avenue between Wilson Avenue and Victory Place through November 2016. Work hours will be from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., primarily Monday through Friday. The closure will remain in place 24/7. A detour will be posted. Click here for more information.  

+ Intermittent nighttime lane closures on southbound I-5 between Hollywood Way and Burbank Boulevard.

+ Intermittent nighttime ramp closures at southbound Buena Vista Street off-ramp and southbound Burbank Boulevard off-ramp.

+ Buena Vista Street daytime intermittent lane closures in both directions between Winona Avenue and San Fernando Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The street will remain open to motorists.

+ On Thursday, Oct. 13, nighttime closure of Winona Avenue underneath I-5.  A detour will be posted.
